We were in Germany and we took the plane from Bremen to Milano. We flew with the company Ryanair because it was really cheap. It was not expensive but not so comfortable. We always had to take Buses to reach the downtown, but it was fine.
I really wanted to discover Italia and all these beautiful places. Milano was not so great. We arrived at 9 am on the 2nd of September. We visited a bit the city and the castle. The weather was not nice, it was rainy. We spend the night in the airport in order to take the plane to Roma the next day.
We stayed two days in Roma. The first thing that we had to do was to find somewhere to sleep. That was so hard but after a while we found a place to stay. We asked people and they gave us lots of addresses that we had to go to. A nice girl gave us some addresses for Venezia. We finally found, and we were in a room with four Americans. We went out to discover the city and the historical sites. We saw the Colosseum, lots of beautiful churches, the Pantheon, the Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Vatican and St. Peter’s Square. We ate in restaurants really delicious pizzas. Roma was great and very interesting. We had lots of fun.
On the 5th of September, after an other night at the airport, we arrived in Venezia. The weather was nice and really sunny. We found the Ostello Santa Fosca Venezia. It was in a university, a bit strange but fine. We were so tired and wanted to have a rest but we could not enter the room before 4 pm. So, we decided to have a walk and discover the surroundings. We went to the Piazza San Marco, the Rialto Bridge, the Correr Museum, the Marble Church, and Fondaco dei Turchi.
We wanted to eat something really special, we ate Lasagna. This is a classic Italian pasta casserole dish, it is made of alternate layers of pasta, soft cheese or a cream sauce, and often a tomato sauce. It was very tasty.
We walked a lot in Venezia. We saw a small festival on the water with a lot of “Gondolas”. Gondola is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, and really famous in Venezia.
This was great trip, even if it was sometimes really hard. We were not so well organized, that is why sometimes we had some difficulties. But in the end, we just keep the best memories of it. This was a great experience and adventure.
